For The King, the “strategic role-playing game with rogue-like elements” has been able to build up a certain fan base since its release in April 2018. Of the nearly 20,000 user reviews on Steam, 88 percent are positive, and players praise the fun co-op gameplay and interesting tabletop elements in particular.
Release of For The King 2 planned for 2023
If you’ve spent some time with the title and had a lot of fun doing it, there’s good news: As developer studio IronOak Games recently announced, a sequel to the popular game is being named For The King 2, released for Steam in 2023. This time, players may have to band together to stop a tyrannical queen from reigning.
Just like in the first part of the series, players in For The King (buy now ) Roam through 2 randomly generated maps, complete various quests and events on them, and of course bag some loot. The game will probably again contain a fairly large variety of opponents and some dungeons. For The King 2 also relies on the turn-based combat system that made the first part so popular. The aforementioned roguelike elements take the form of certain upgrades that players can unlock at the end of a run. These can then be used in future playthroughs.
Like its predecessor, For The King 2 is designed for co-op, offering both local and online multiplayer for up to four players. However, the title can also be played solo quite comfortably. Publisher Curve Games already published a first trailer for the game, which, among other things, introduces some of the new scenarios.
