Apple has reportedly signed an agreement with BOE to supply OLED displays, allowing the screen maker to supply components for the upcoming iPhone 14.

Under the contract, worth 50 million Chinese yuan ($7.75 million), BOE will provide displays designed for use in the latest iPhones of the Cupertinos. Apparently, BOE will supply a quarter of the display panels.

Shipments will obviously only be for 6.1-inch OLED panels, which means they will only be used in standard iPhone 14 models, notes GSM Arena. Displays for other models, including the larger iPhone 14 Max and Pro, will continue to feature panels made by Samsung and LG.

The company’s addition to the supply chain is an important milestone for BOE, which has repeatedly tried to join the current-generation iPhone supplier roster.
