Earlier this month, Techland announced a new update to Dying Light 2: Stay Human later in April that would also bring the zombie sequel’s New Game+ mode. Now there is more information and a concrete release date.

Techland formally announced the update to version 1.3.0 of Dying Light 2: Stay Human today. The patch aims to fix a number of co-op issues, but also to offer completely new endgame content that was particularly popular with the community.

Above all, the New Game+ game mode, which will be added from April 27, 2022, should be mentioned in this context. The mode is then available to all gamers who have successfully completed the main game once. As usual with New Game+ from other titles, you can then visit The City again, experience the story again and, for example, make different decisions than on your first run. You keep your character and items from the first run and you have to deal with correspondingly newly scaled opponents and a higher level of difficulty. New bonuses are also introduced in this respect.

But that’s not all, because New Game+ will offer further adjustments. There are 30 new Inhibitors to find, as hidden in less obvious places to maximize your characters health and stamina. Detached from the more difficult because scaled opponents, you can expect more challenging battles thanks to new encounters with golden markers. These special encounters are designed to provide a real challenge for experienced pilgrims and are packed with special enemies of all varieties. In the new quest called “Something Big Has Been Here” there are also new enemies waiting to surprise you with mutated infected and new attacks.

The new challenges and encounters will reward you with higher deposits of “legendary” weapons and valuable items. For those of you who prefer collecting titles to prizes, Techland has added a new Parkour Challenge Platinum medal based on best results.

Besides the new features in update 1.3.0, Techland has also fixed a number of bugs related to co-op mode, including some remaining “dead loops”. Added a FOV slider for console players to change perspective (PS5 and Xbox Series X only).
