According to people familiar with the matter, Samsung Electronics is converting Samsung Display’sHundreds of employees transferred to its chip packaging business unit.
According to The Elec, people familiar with the matter said,Employees under the age of 37 can apply to change departmentsSamsung Electronics is accepting the transfer application of Samsung Display employees, which is expected to be completed in the second half of this year.
The report pointed out that this is the third time Samsung Electronics has made personnel adjustments to Samsung Display in the past two years, and it also made similar transfers in the first half and second half of last year.Samsung Display is exiting the liquid crystal display (LCD) businessthus requiring less manpower, whileSamsung Electronics’ chip business needs more manpower due to lack of talent.
It is reported that Samsung Display originally planned to end the LCD business by the end of 2020, but according to the requirements of Samsung Electronics TV Business Unit,Some production lines are still operating. The L8 line is the only one still in operationbut will also end production at the end of next month.
