As Activision Blizzard confirmed, work on the action role-playing game “Diablo 4” is making great internal progress. The fantasy adventure recently reached the next important milestone and is already going through the first internal play tests.
Even though Blizzard Entertainment announced the action role-playing game “Diablo 4” in 2019, a specific release date is still a long time coming.
As those responsible at the Californian publisher confirmed in the course of the current annual report, the development of “Diablo 4” is making great progress internally despite everything. It goes on to say that the title recently reached the next important milestone and is currently undergoing internal playtests. What all this means for a possible release date remains to be seen.
In November 2021, Activision Blizzard put its followers on a longer wait and admitted that the previously unspecified release period for “Diablo 4” had to be pushed back.
Developers plan long-term support
However, it should be gratifying for the fans to hear that the development of “Diablo 4” is slowly getting back into calmer waters, after all the dismissal by the original game director Luis Barriga caused quite a stir – internally and externally. “Diablo 4” is in development for the consoles and the PC and, according to official information, will be supported with updates and new content over a period of several years.

Specific details about the post-launch support of “Diablo 4” have not yet been mentioned. However, we can assume that, just like “Diablo 3”, new seasons with exclusive rewards will be offered at regular intervals. Additional expansions with content such as new areas, character classes or missions are certainly within the realm of possibility.
