Fantasy RPG with Elden Ring borrowings? Nonsense. Thanks to a cool trailer, Asterigos suddenly gets attention. But the action-adventure is reminiscent of Kena: Bridge of Spirits and Immortals: Fenyx Rising.
Recently, a fresh gameplay trailer (worth watching) of Asterigos: Curse of the Stars hit the PlayStation YT channel and Xbox on, this will be the title at the fair PAX East be playable and also the Steam presence of the game has been revamped. So it is understandable that there is suddenly a lively interest in the title, whose makers have been on their website since June 2021 Twitter channel bang the drum. Feel free to stop by there if you want to learn more about the development or if you’re into concept artwork stuff…
But let’s take a step back: Asterigos: Curse of the Stars seems to offer cool, gripping fights with swords, spears, magic & Co. and of course it’s also against thicker chunks – we believe in the parallels to Elden Ring that are suggested on the Internet but little. Otherwise every battle-heavy action-adventure since the olden days would somehow be some kind of Elden Ring…
The parallels to Ubisoft’s great Breath of the Wild copy Immortals: Fenyx Rising are much more obvious, especially the game’s comic look and its characters are strongly reminiscent of it. And anyone who played the surprise hit Kena: Bridge of Spirits last year should also experience one or two flashbacks. See for yourself – we installed it at the bottom!
What’s the game about? Hilda, a “brave warrior of the North Wind Legion” wants to find her missing father and goes in search of the mythical city of Aphes. As the game progresses, she unravels the mysteries of the city and finds out how it rose and fell; in addition, she will of course shape the fate of the entire kingdom with her decisions. Asterigos is based on three pillars:
- Exploring Apes, the fallen city of stars: delve into its history and restore it to its former glory.
- Challenge: Cursed beasts are ravaging the realm, arm yourself with the power of the gods to defeat them.
- Story: Become part of the legend – Hilda’s decisions will shape the fate of the realm.
For information on figures such as Minerva, Harold and Eumenides, we recommend taking a look at the picture gallery. Six types of weapons that Hilda uses to hunt down her enemies have already been revealed:
- Sword and Shield: for a good balance of damage and defense
- Daggers: Fast attack sequences and quick evasive steps
- Spear: it took good reflexes to parry enemy attacks
- Hammer: heavy and powerful, capable of breaking through enemy block stances
- Wand: the wand enables ranged attacks and keeps enemies at a distance
- Bracelets: can place magic mines and create deadly traps
