IT House April 26 news, according to Apple Insider, a man used his Apple AirTags to track lost luggage, and presented a convincing argument to airlines with lost luggage.

Elliot Sharod traveled to South Africa for his wedding in April. However, when he returned to Dublin, where the trip started, his luggage mysteriously disappeared.

The three missing bags contained items from his wedding – handwritten notes from guests, wedding invitations, itinerary. However, each bag includes an AirTag tracker.

Apple designed the item tracker to be small enough to hide almost anywhere. Sharod hides it in his socks.

Sharod has been actively tracking his luggage on the way home, noting that with a “robust” itinerary, the luggage was taken to multiple airports.

But the bags were never shipped to Dublin. Instead, they ended up in Frankfurt, Germany, and were moved to a goal block.

Sharod contacted Aer Lingus and told them the luggage was missing. Aer Lingus responded that they would transport the bags from Frankfurt to London and then to Sharods’ home in Surrey.

Eventually, two of the bags did show up, but the third was still missing. Sharod noted that the bag was delivered to one location in London and moved to another location down the street a few days later.

After Aer Lingus’ attempts to locate the bag failed, Sharod began posting updates about the experience on his Twitter feed.

He called the airline’s response to the situation appalling and produced a PowerPoint presentation highlighting where luggage was being tracked.
