Nine years after the release of the world’s multiplayer survival first-person shooter “DayZ” (from the EA stage), the number of simultaneous online players on Steam recently broke a new high.

According to SteamDB data, the number of simultaneous online players of “Dayz” on Steam reached 58,523 on April 24, which is the highest value since the game entered the EA stage in December 2013.

In fact, DayZ online player count has been on an upward trend since hitting a low of around 3,000 in mid-2018. The long EA phase was obviously much longer than most players were willing to wait, but the end of the EA phase in December 2018 brought many players back into the game. Since then, the introduction of iterative content seems to convince more and more players that DayZ is going to be a long-term development, which has also brought new players.

Recently, “DayZ” released the 1.17 version update, which added a lot of new content to the game including new weapons, new recipes, etc. This peak player data was reached after the update.

9 years after its release,

On top of that, DayZ has seen an 81% increase in watch time on Twitch, a 20% increase in new channels, and a 300% increase in maximum viewership over the past 30 days. Google also reported that searches for DayZ have nearly doubled in the past month. With these numbers, the game’s future looks pretty bright.
