Windows 11 KB5012643 is an optional cumulative update designed to test changes released with the May 2022 Patch Tuesday Update.Like other optional updates, this cumulative update is not downloaded and installed automatically unless you check for updates and manually start the download.
Unlike the March 2022 optional update, this optional cumulative update is not a major release, but has several quality improvements. For example, Microsoft added a new feature that will display the temperature on top of the weather icon, which was added to the taskbar with the April 2022 Update.
Microsoft fixed an issue where the operating system misaligned video subtitles, and fixed another bug where video subtitles would be partially cut off. Microsoft said it also fixed an issue that prevented users from using Windows window controls, such as the minimize, maximize and close buttons.

Another bug where Windows was reporting high memory usage due to a memory leak bug has been fixed. Microsoft also fixed an issue affecting the Title attribute in Microsoft Edge IE mode, a bug that disallowed mobile device management policies in Windows Enterprise editions.
Microsoft said it also fixed an issue where Windows could enter BitLocker recovery after a service update. Another bug has been fixed where the operating system may fail to replicate the security portion of Group Policy.

Known issues in Windows 11 Update
Microsoft is currently only aware of one known issue in the update.According to the release notes, if using Windows 7 ‘s Backup and Restore feature created a recovery disk, and recovery will not be possible.
This bug does not affect third-party backup or restore applications.
Microsoft begins preparations for ‘Sun Valley 2’ update
Microsoft plans to roll out Windows 11 version 22H2, codenamed “Sun Valley 2,” in the fall, and reports suggest the update could roll out as early as August.
Along with the optional update, Microsoft says it’s also bundling a new change to improve the quality of the servicing stack. Servicing stack updates include quality improvements to the components that install Windows Update.
It ensures that the stack update has a robust and reliable servicing stack to ensure smooth installation of Windows updates. Servicing stack updates are typically released months before major feature releases.
