In an email to developers, Apple informs them that iOS apps will be removed from the App Store because they haven’t been updated for some time. In order to avoid such a withdrawal, they have 30 days to submit an update which will be evaluated.
The Verge reports the cases of several developers affected by this turn of the screw, with in particular a misunderstanding on the part of game developers or independents. If applicable, the measure does not affect users who have already installed an application deemed obsolete, including for in-app purchases.

Apple has its reasons
Apple puts forward a goal to make it easy for App Store users to find apps that meet their needs, and to ensure that available apps are functional and up-to-date.
However, and especially for video games, criticism of cleaning in the App Store relates to the fact that old applications should remain available, like old video games on consoles.
