Apple has just announced a new service program that offers free repairs to an Apple Watch Series 6 that has unexpectedly failed. Here’s how to check eligibility for a free Apple Watch blank screen fix.

The new Apple Watch service program was launched on April 22, and the company said only the 40mm Series 6 was affected.

Apple says a “very small percentage” of its wearables suffer from a persistent blank screen issue and were manufactured between April 2021 and September 2021 (but may have been sold after those dates).

The Apple Watch Blank Screen program is available for qualifying watches for two years after initial retail sale.

How to check eligibility to fix Apple Watch blank screen

Please note that only the 40mm Apple Watch Series 6 is eligible for this maintenance program.

Apple notes that the service program does not extend the original warranty on the Apple Watch Series 6. It may also “limit repairs to the original country or region of purchase.”

In addition, Apple states: “If your Apple Watch has any damage that is degrading the service, that issue must be fixed first. In some cases, repairs may be charged.
