Apple is paying a price for devices with smaller screens — and U.S. market data is reflecting that. According to U.S. iPhone sales data for the March quarter shared by Consumer Research Intelligence Partners (CIRP), the 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini continues to be unpopular with customers. This is not the “original sin” of the iPhone 13 mini. The situation has been there since the iPhone 12 mini. Among all iPhone 13 models, the iPhone 13mini had the smallest sales share, accounting for only 3% of total iPhone sales in the quarter. By contrast, other iPhone 13 models were more popular and accounted for the lion’s share of U.S. sales for a few years, becoming the best-selling generation of iPhones in recent years. All four iPhone 13 models combined accounted for 71% of iPhone sales, with the standard 6.1-inch iPhone 13 accounting for 38% of sales.
