Jordan’s King Abdullah II announced on Wednesday that the defence law, first adopted to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, would be lifted in a matter of months. The king’s announcement came as part of a televised speech commemorating the country’s 76th celebration from British colonialism.
