A man was fatally shot by Jersey City police late Tuesday night, authorities said in police radio transmissions. The shooting occurred at Communipaw and West Side avenues just before midnight. Police were responding to a report of shots fired at the gas station at the intersection. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office deferred questions to the state Attorney General’s Office. The AG’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for more information.
