Announced last March, Alkemi’s narrative card game highlighted its DA, made of anthropomorphic animals and inspired by old Disney films, its soundtrack composed by the legendary Christophe Heral, its dubbing embodied by actor Travis Willingham (more than 300 roles in animation and video games, just that), his scenario based on a world on the brink, or his narrative ambition to transform his board in chivalric epic.

This is precisely what this new trailer, under the intriguing neologism of “Decksploration”. At the command of Volepain, a thieving crow on which the fate of this apocalyptic world will rest, we will have to form our team of adventurers with various skills, and lead the adventure in our own way. What differentiates forest others deck builders, is first of all the fact that its narration takes place exclusively on the game board. Thus everyone can use the skills and resources of their deck as they wish to explore the surroundings, trigger scripted events which, from one thing leading to another, will gradually unfold the main plot or even face challenges of all kinds. Trade, negotiation, combat, or even infiltration, there will be many choices to create your own scripted tree.

To encourage experimentation and replayability, the game will feature multiple possible endings, depending on our choices. If this concept (promising it is true) intrigues you, know that forest will be playable in demo at the next Steam Next Fest, from June 13 to 20. Still no date, but a well-confirmed release on PC and Switch.
