Apparently, those responsible at Microsoft are on the lookout for other takeover candidates. This indicates a current job vacancy for a manager who will lead Xbox Game Studios into the future and also initiate possible acquisitions.

While Sony Interactive Entertainment recently took over studios such as Insomniac Games, Bungie, Housemarque and Bluepoint Games, Microsoft grabbed entire publishers.

In the summer of 2020, for example, the roughly $7.5 billion takeover of the makers of “Fallout” and “The Elder Scrolls” from Bethesda Softworks was announced. Microsoft went a step further with the purchase of Activision Blizzard earlier this year. The software company from Redmond, USA, paid more than 68 billion US dollars for one of the largest software publishers of our time.

However, as a recent job posting for a manager to lead Xbox Game Studios into the future, Microsoft’s hunger for new studios doesn’t seem to be over yet. Quite the contrary: Here the “search for further takeover candidates” is openly mentioned.
