While we hope for an Xbox conference this summer to lift the veil on the release date of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Ninja Theory shared an image of the game this weekend. , but it’s still better than nothing.

Icelandic volcanic lands

Iceland has a very special geology since almost all of its land is of volcanic origin. The Ninja Theory studio understood the unique aspect of this island located about 3 hours flight from mainland France, and took advantage of Earth Day to broadcast a new image of the game.

It is the beach of Djúpalónssandur which is presented to us here, located in the extreme west of the country. Today part of Snaefellsjökull National Park, it was not so 1000 years ago, when the image of the day could have been taken.

Ninja Theory does not share more but since we know that the plot of Hellblade II will take place in Iceland, there is a good chance that we will regularly encounter these black sand beaches typical of the country. In all likelihood, this is also the same beach as the one we saw in the gameplay sequence visible further down in this article.

For the moment, Hellblade II still does not have a release date, but we know that it will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The studio aims for graphics that are as realistic as possible and last February, its creator declared that Hellblade 2 will make Hellblade pass for an independent game. The gameplay trailer below is also from a real sequence played by a developer, so the immersion should be there.
