Already at the end of last year, Google would actually roll out user profiles for its platform Google TV, but the function was then delayed without a word from Google when it could be expected to come. However, it seems that the day is here now, when Google has started to roll out profiles so users do not have to see recommendations that are tailored to someone else.
The feature is largely unchanged from when Google unveiled it last year. Different user profiles create a “personal space” linked to each user’s Google Account. When you click on your account, recommendations for movies and TV shows are displayed based on your preferences, and you also get access to your personal to-do list and Assistant.
Google also says that user profiles do not change apps or logins on the device. All users, except children, will have access to the same downloaded apps and be logged in to the same accounts.
