As announced, the developers of Chernobylite have now released Season 1 and the Enhanced Edition of the game. The Enhanced Edition for PC is a free download. It is the first major update for 2022 and one of the biggest ever. As part of the Enhanced Edition, which is being rolled out for PC and consoles, there is now ray tracing and tessellation. More realistic reflections and more realistic level lighting are mentioned. It is a “significant change in graphics” that everyone sees immediately. Thanks to tessellation, trees should now look more realistic with more details. Matching this was also a Video released by Pripyat Port. In addition, the tactical crossbow has been released as a new weapon to further enhance your stealth playstyle. Further seasons are planned for Q2, Q3 and Q4 – there are content packs that are subject to a fee.

Farm 51 describes Chernobylite as a sci-fi experience with survival horror elements that combines free exploration of the haunting game world with challenging combat, unique crafting and non-linear storyline. Technically, the developers of Farm 51 rely on the Unreal Engine 4 in combination with proven and improved methods of photogrammetry, which the studio developed for Get Even and refined for Chernobylite.

Chernobylite goes even further, using things like laser scanning and drone footage to accurately integrate entire buildings and known locations of the dead zone into the game. Thanks to the new engine, its physically based rendering and advanced lighting techniques, the surroundings and objects as well as the lighting situations and other influences in Chernobylite can also be significantly more dynamic than in Get Even.
