PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscriptions have a release date

A few weeks ago, Sony officially unveiled its new PlayStation Plus subscriptions, which will directly compete with Microsoft’s Game Pass. After having provided explanations on the content of this new service, Sony finally decides to reveal to us the exact release date of the PS Plus Extra and Premium subscriptions. To our great surprise, it will be rolled out gradually in different regions of the world.

It is the Asians who will have the privilege of being able to subscribe first, from May 23, except for Japan, which will be able to discover the new subscriptions from June 1. Then, Americans will be able to access it from June 13. In Europe, we will therefore be the last to be able to switch to a more expensive subscription. since they arrive from next June 23.

Two more months to wait

This means that we therefore have two months to wait before we can know the details of the advantages of these two subscriptions, or sooner if Sony wants to communicate on this subject. As a reminder, the firm intends to offer two new formulas, one of which would contain more than 700 games on demand. • Cloud streaming access to Extra and Premium tier PlayStation, PS2, PSP and PS4 games in markets** currently offering PlayStation Now. Customers can stream to PS4 and PS5 consoles, as well as PC***.
• Limited-time trial versions will also be offered at this tier, allowing players to test before purchasing.
