Secretly, quietly, the organizers initiate advance sales for Gamescom tickets – but only in combination with fan article packages.
Update from May 24, 2022: Even before the official start of advance sales for Gamescom 2022, the organizers are giving away so-called ‘wild card’ codes.
By entering these codes, a maximum of two wild card tickets can be purchased in the online shop, giving access to the trade visitor and media day (Wednesday, August 24, from 1 p.m.). All other end users are not allowed into the entertainment area until the following Thursday (25 August). Means: more space, less crowding, more playing time. The price of the wild card tickets is not known.
In order to take part in the Wild Card competition, you must subscribe to the Gamescom private visitor newsletter and log in with a KoelnMesse account. This account is also valid for the Gamescom app and the online program on Gamescom Now.
Message from May 19, 2022: Gamescom fans will have to wait until the beginning of June until the official ticket sale for this year’s games fair from August 24th to 28th starts. After a two-year pandemic break, the entire exhibition center in Cologne-Deutz is to be used again – the first exhibitors have already confirmed their participation on request.
But advance ticket sales for Gamescom 2022 are already starting today: The official Gamescom merchandise partner – Campus Sportswear GmbH – has several ‘Legendary Gamer Box’ packages unlockedwith which the organizers en passant clear their stocks.
Because the boxes contain surprise unisex T-shirts, backpacks and baseball caps with Gamescom2021-Inscription also includes a voucher code for the desired Gamescom 2022 day, which can be redeemed for a personalized ticket in the ticket shop at a later date.

- Wildcard package for €119.90 – access on trade visitor day (Wednesday, August 24)
- Four-day package for €149.90 (access on August 25th / 26th / 27th / 28th)
- Saturday package for €79.90 (access on August 27th)
- Sunday package for €69.90 (access on August 28)
- Thursday or Friday package for €59.90 (access on 25 or 26 August)
The tariff structure suggests that the day tickets for what experience has shown to be the most popular Gamescom day – namely Saturday – are also higher this year than on other working days. For certain groups of people (apprentices, students, seniors, etc.) there should be discounts again this time.
As a clue: The day tickets for the (later cancelled) Gamescom 2020 were between €14 and €22 in advance – for discounted tickets were between €9 and €14.50. Whether there will be an after-school ticket (valid in the afternoon) or a pre-entry ticket (early admission) this year is still open.
