That’s a lot of vampires
Is V Rising wouldn’t have left to be the new Valheim ? A game released in relative anonymity and whose word of mouth slowly starting to take it to the top of the Steam rankings? It’s possible : In a weekHack’n’Slash with survival game mechanics has already sold 1 million copies on the Valve platform, says Stunlock Studios on Twitter.
It would therefore seem that the players who embarked on V Rising Early Access have become addicted: the peak of 150,000 simultaneous players has just been reached, which takes the title into top 10 games most played on Steam during the last 24 hours, i.e. ahead of GTA V, Destiny 2 even Elden Ring.
Valheim was sold to 4 million copies in just 4 weeks on the market. Certainly, V Rising will – perhaps – not take advantage of the COVID effect to sell out, but the success story is so far similar. It remains to be seen how long the craze will last, especially since it is only early access with rather limited content, although the foundations and the intrinsic quality are solid.
The studio behind Battlerite incidentally continues to ardently patch its title for respond to some player feedback whenever he gets the chance. While the title allows to play totally offline for a few days, stunlock has just given the possibility to its players to be able to take advantage of a LAN co-op game, without needing to connect to the Steam network. We want to see more options like this.
