Domestic users are temporarily missed! Important Windows 11 feature upgrades: These users can also use Android apps

Back in October 2021, Android apps on Windows 11 finally took a step closer to Windows Insiders.

After months of testing, they’re also starting to be available to the OS in preview form, but only in the US. Today, Microsoft announced the expansion of this program to more countries.

Now Windows 11 users in five more countries will be able to take advantage of Android apps. These countries include France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom. While Microsoft has yet to lay out a specific timeline, this should happen by the end of the year.

Microsoft also announced new ways to improve app discoverability in Windows 11. The first method is for Windows Search to surface search results from the Microsoft Store and install apps directly from it. With more than 50% of people using the Start menu, the company hopes this will become the main acquisition channel for apps.

Also, the waiting list to release Win32 apps to the Windows Store is gone. Any developer can now publish their Win32 packages to the Microsoft Store and immediately start taking advantage of new features such as automated commits via CI/CD GitHub Actions or Rest APIs pipelines, test app visibility, view app telemetry, and Respond directly to user comments.
