We have known since the beginning of the month, the Summer Game Fest will hold an event on June 9, 2022 to make up for, a little, the absence of E3 2022. Launched in 2020, already to offer a platform to the various publishers following the cancellation of the largest video game fair in the world, the famous presenter Geoff Keighley has managed to make evolve its formula to convince as many publishers and developers as possible to join the movement.

This will still be the case this year according to the American animator, especially since he explained during a Twitter Space that several publishers had abandoned the idea of having their own event as was the case last year of the alongside Square-Enix and Capcom to name but a few. According to him, producing shows of about thirty minutes to present one or two games was not a good idea, especially in terms of rhythm.

A statement that implies that major publishers will choose the Summer Game Fest show to announce new titles. He ends by specifying that the current lack of games is due to the Covid period which has hit the video game industry hard, but that many titles are currently in production.

Between this June 9 show and the June 12 Microsoft conference, the second week of June should be interesting for the video game sector, and especially for gamers.
