During the first inning of Saturday’s matchup between the Detroit Tigers and Colorado Rockies, Miggy hit a low grounder through the gap to achieve the milestone with a trademark opposite-field single. In his 20th Major League season, Cabrera is the seventh player in MLB history to record more than 500 home runs and 3,000 hits.
