This time, IT House got a Jiangxing X17 Pro, which uses a combination of 12th-generation Core i9-12900H + RTX 3070Ti. Compared with the previous products, it is more aggressive in configuration and stacking, but the starting price is only 9999 yuan. Then follow me to see how it performs.

1. Appearance design

When I first got the Jiangxing X17 Pro, I was quite surprised. Its size is really not small, and the overall feeling is very low-key and restrained. The one we got is a black color scheme, the whole shell is made of pure black metal body, the surface is treated with matte material, it feels very delicate to the touch, coupled with the tough and square body lines, it is easy to give people Leaves a hardcore feel.

In contrast, the packaging and printing of the Star X17 Pro is full of national style. The original paint is all over the package, but the machine inside is pure black.

It comes standard with a 230W power adapter, a data cable, a polishing cloth and a stack of warranty cards.

The design of the X17 Pro is very restrained. There is no logo, text or pattern on the A side, which is suitable for sticking stickers on it. The top of the A side is a cutting line that runs through the left and right sides, which distinguishes the outer two small corners belonging to the C side and the middle shaft. Saccharum.

The size of the whole machine is 396*262*24.9mm, which is quite satisfactory in a 17-inch game book. Although there is no special raised design on the A side to facilitate lifting the screen, the damping of the hinge is well done, and it is easy to open and close with one hand, and the maximum opening and closing angle is 150 degrees.

After opening the A side, you can see that the B side is made of frosted plastic material, the screen frame is slightly higher than the screen surface, and the borders on the left and right sides are very narrow.

The top frame houses a high-definition camera with FHD resolution, as well as sensors. The bottom frame has a colorful logo with glossy craftsmanship in the center. The screen part is made of matte material, and the overall screen ratio is still good.

Coming to the C side, the Star X17 Pro uses a sunken island keyboard, the power button is placed independently on the top right side of the C side, there is a long indicator light in the middle, and a logo is printed next to it. Although the overall look is still calm and low-key, Colorful has also made some careful thoughts on the details.

For example, the diamond-shaped raised power button, the sound effect logo on the upper left corner of the C surface, and the cutting lines on the four corners of the keyboard all adopt a very linear angular design, which is visually more speedy and impactful. So dull and monotonous, it also highlights Colorful’s interpretation of the game book.

In the keyboard part, the X17 Pro has a full-key layout, not only with a complete numeric keypad area, but also with full-key arrow keys. The top row of the keyboard defaults to the original F key function. It needs to cooperate with the Fn key combination to trigger the shortcut key of the corresponding logo. The functional area provides shielding the touchpad, disabling the camera, and fast sleep.

A small separation area is made between the number area and the letter area, which is helpful for blindly pressing and identifying buttons, but it still requires users to take time to adapt. The feel of the keyboard is soft, and the keystroke is 1.8mm. The typing experience is acceptable.

The keycaps are made of white around, which is easy for users to identify, but it is not light-transmitting. The keyboard has a 4-level backlight and supports RGB lighting, but only one color can be enabled at the same time. There is no choice of lighting mode in the colorful control center software. , RGB effect is general.

Below the keyboard is an asymmetrical touchpad with a large area. The overall position is to the left. The material and the shell are consistent. They are all matte metal. The feedback and vibration of touch and pressing are good. However, this time, the X17 Pro did not continue to design the antique pattern on the C side, and the power and battery indicators were moved to the right position on the side of the CD facing the user.

Turning to the D side, the entire bottom case is designed with a large number of hollow grilles, which not only ensures the circulation of cooling air, but also maintains the unique ridgeline design of Colorful. The left and right chamfered parts of the bottom case have a set of symmetrical speaker openings. It has a lot of screws. There are a total of 16 screws in the entire bottom case, and one of the holes has a warranty label on it.

Finally, let’s take a look at the interface part. The X17 Pro adopts a three-sided surround interface layout. On the left side of the fuselage are two USB3.2 Gen1 Type-A interfaces and a set of 3.5mm headphone & microphone interfaces;

From left to right on the right side are the MicroSD card slot, the USB3.2 Gen2 Type-C interface (supporting DP1.4) and the RJ45 network cable interface;

There is also a DC power port on the back, a USB-C port with Thunderbolt 4 protocol, an HDMI2.1 port, a miniDP port, and an anti-theft lock. At the same time, there are four sets of air outlets on the three sides. The number of ports can be said to be very complete.

2. Screen quality

The X17 Pro is equipped with a 17.3-inch IPS LCD screen this time, with a resolution of 2560*1440 and a refresh rate of 165Hz. In fact, 2K / 165Hz has been very popular in the current mainstream game books, it is the current screen configuration The dessert point on the game can not only feed the graphics card to the game, but also allow consumers to enjoy high resolution and high brush at the same time, and control power consumption. Officials claim that the screen also supports 100% sRGB color gamut and G-SYNC, with a maximum brightness of 300 nits.

The IT House also tested its screen through a professional color calibration instrument. In the default display mode, the screen covered 99% of sRGB, 82.1% of AdobeRGB and 98.6% of DCI-P3 color gamut. The color performance is still good.

In terms of color accuracy, the average Delta E of the X17 Pro is 0.23, and the maximum Delta E is 0.89. The performance is also very good. It is sufficient to meet the needs of mainstream office entertainment, and some professional productivity and design needs are not a problem.

3. Configuration and performance

At the beginning, we said that the X17 Pro is a high-end hardcore gaming laptop, so its configuration is more luxurious this time. The specific parameters are as follows:

Let’s take a look at the specific performance. All tests are based on the performance mode of the X17 Pro. We first tested the CineBench. In the CineBench R20, the i9- The 12900H ran a single-core score of 704 and a multi-core score of 6374;

In the CineBench R23 test, it scored 1830 points for single core and 16046 points for multi-core respectively. Compared with the 11th-generation Core, these two sets of results have improved significantly, especially the multi-core performance has improved by up to 30%; the performance of the 12th-generation Core using Intel’s high-performance hybrid architecture has indeed brought us a lot of surprises.

In the GPU part, because it is equipped with NVIDIA Dynamic Boost technology, the X17 Pro has three modes: direct connection of independent display, shielded independent display and mixed output. Users need to set it through the BIOS. The specific switching method is to press F2 to enter the BIOS after powering on, and select Setup Utility-Advanced, find the Advanced Chipset Control option to open, and then select it in the Display Mode menu; for the convenience of subsequent testing, we directly select the “Discrete GPU Only” option here, which is the direct connection of the independent display.

The theoretical performance part directly looks at the 3D Mark. In the Time Spy benchmark test, the RTX 3070Ti scored 10333 points and 5293 points respectively;

In the Fire Strike benchmark, the RTX 3070Ti scored 27,302 and 13,133 graphics cards respectively; the overall performance was in line with expectations.

After reading the theoretical performance test, of course, let’s see how the actual game experience is. This time, IT Home chose 5 games for testing, and the test was based on the performance mode + open the direct connection of the independent display.

First of all, in the end game, the average number of frames is 75 frames under the setting of 2K resolution + the highest image quality directly, and after turning on DLSS, the average number of frames can reach about 90-100 frames.

Then there is the old friend Metro: Escape. In the benchmark test of 1080P resolution, set to Ultra quality. When the light pursuit and DLSS are not turned on, the average frame rate is 77 frames; when the light chase is turned on and DLSS is turned on, the frame rate is 77 frames. A slight decrease, the average number of frames is 71;

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, 2K resolution is used and the highest quality is used. When ray tracing and DLSS are not turned on, the average frame rate is 111 frames. When the ray tracing level is turned on to high, and DLSS quality is selected, the average frame rate is 111 frames. It can also reach 91 frames;

In the more demanding Control, the 2K resolution has the highest quality, and the average frame rate can reach 112 frames without DLSS and ray tracing. After turning on ray tracing and DLSS, the average frame rate fluctuates between 75-82 frames;

The last is Cyberpunk 2077. At 2K resolution, the image quality, ray tracing, and DLSS options are all turned on to the highest level. The average frame rate is around 43-50 frames. With a little special effects, it can be stabilized at 60 frames. It can be seen that the combination of the i9-12900H+RTX 3070Ti of the X17 Pro can play most games at 2K resolution, because the number of frames is stable above 60 frames, and it is more suitable for daily office, entertainment and productivity. Not a problem.

The performance of the memory part, with the help of AIDA64’s benchmark test, is excellent in DDR4 memory due to the use of full blood dual-channel, both read and write speed and latency are well controlled.

We checked the hard drive of the Star X17 Pro through CrystalDiskInfo software and found that this is an OEM model solid state from Samsung, PM9A1, with a capacity of 1TB;

After the actual measurement of CrystalDiskMark, it has a read speed of 4897MB/s and a write speed of 4957MB/s, which is in line with the performance expectations of this hard drive.

That light performance can be good is definitely not enough, we also have to take a look at the heat dissipation performance of the X17 Pro. Before the test, we switched the X17 Pro’s built-in computer manager to the performance mode, pulled the fan speed to the highest, and passed the AIDA64 single-bake FPU for 20 minutes. The measured CPU temperature remained at 96 degrees at this time, and the power consumption was stable at 66W, the frequency of the large core is kept at 3.1GHz, and the small core is kept at 2.6GHz. At this time, the fan speed is about 5200 rpm;

Then we continued to add code and conducted a 20-minute AIDA64+FurMark double-bake test. At this time, the CPU temperature was maintained at 97 degrees, the power consumption was stable at 45W, the frequency of the large core was maintained at 2.5GHz, and the small core was maintained at 2.2GHz;

The GPU temperature is maintained at about 75 degrees, the power consumption is 105W, and the frequency is 1200MHz; the speed of both fans is 5300 rpm. It can be seen that the control of the core temperature is quite satisfactory. Fortunately, the temperature of the surface of the C-side keyboard is not high, and it is not hot to the touch.

After a few days of experience, although the official positioning of the Jiangxing X17 Pro is a high-end hardcore gaming notebook, it still has a good price/performance ratio in my opinion.Thanks to the excellent performance of the 12th-generation Core and 30-series graphics cards, combined with the starting price of 9999 yuan, it is a powerful spoiler in today’s gaming market.. Of course, I still hope to see more bold attempts to customize the national style of Jiangxing’s new products in the future. In terms of appearance design and exclusive functions, I will play more tricks. I believe this series of Colorful will definitely get more attention. and recognition.
