Today it is 32 years since NASA’s space telescope Hubble Space Telescope was launched into space and it is noticed as usual with an image from the telescope.

The image above shows a galaxy cluster called the Hickson Compact Group 40, which is about 300 light-years from us in the direction of the constellation Water Norm (Hydra). Hickson Compact Group 40 consists of three spiral galaxies, an elliptical galaxy and a lens-shaped galaxy. The five galaxies coexist on an area less than double the area occupied by our own galaxy, the Milky Way.

Astronomers believe that the five galaxies in the Hickson Compact Group 40 will collide and form an elliptical galaxy sometime in the next billion years.
