The hull tilted 30 degrees when the sightseeing boat carrying 26 people in Japan lost contact and called for help: the wind and waves were strong that day

According to the Japan Broadcasting Association TV on the 23rdreport,A sightseeing boat carrying 26 people sank near the Shiretoko Peninsula in northeastern Hokkaido on the same day and lost contact after calling for help from the Japan Coast Guard.

The one in distress was a small sightseeing boat with a capacity of 65 people. There were 26 crew members and tourists on board at the time of the incident. There were strong winds and waves on the day of the incident.

The report said that at about 13:15 local time (12:15 Beijing time), the crew of the ship called for help from the Japan Coast Guard, saying that “the bow part of the ship entered the water, the ship was sinking, and the hull tilted about 30 degrees.” The ship subsequently lost contact. All crew members and passengers are reported to be wearing life jackets.

The Japan Coast Guard has dispatched 5 patrol boats and 2 planes to the scene for rescue.
