On Friday, Apple announced a new maintenance program for select Apple Watch Series 6 devices affected by the “white screen issue.” Affected customers will be able to request free repairs through Apple or Authorized Service Providers (AASPs).

Only a small percentage of 40mm Apple Watch Series 6 models are affected by this issue, according to the company, which could cause the display to permanently dim. Apple says the affected devices were manufactured between April and September 2021.

Affected customers can check if their Apple Watch Series 6 is repairable by entering the serial number on the Apple website. It’s worth noting that no other Apple Watch models other than the 40mm Series 6 are eligible for this service program.
