Apple has announced to students who subscribe to Apple Music that their subscription prices will increase in several countries, including in the Dominican Republic, where the price will drop from $1.49 to $1.99 per month. This remains well below the official general public rate (€10 per month individually, or €15 per month for families in France), but it is rare enough to mention it. Moreover, this is to our knowledge the first time that there is a price increase on Apple Music offers.
The change concerns many countries, without the exhaustive list being known. Here is a list of countries where the increase has been confirmed by MacRumorsknowing that there may be others: South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Australia, India, Indonesia, Israel, Kenya, Malaysia, Philippines, Dominican Republic, Singapore.
It is not yet known whether this increase will eventually be passed on worldwide. Knowing that prices vary significantly from one country to another: if it is displayed today at $2 per month in the Dominican Republic, the student offer is billed at €5 per month in France. For the moment, the price has not moved.
As a reminder, these student offers are reserved for Apple Music users who can prove their student status. The offer is only valid for four years, beyond which you will have to return to the classic offer.
