Just a few hours ago with the return of Siphon Filter, we thought Sony was going to talk about their new Playstation Plus soon, probably in May, and we didn’t expect to be wrong so soon. Without warning, the manufacturer posted a new ticket on its PlayStation-Blog to specify the contours of the arrival of the new service, which will not be available on the same date for everyone depending on where you are on the globe.

What is the release date of the new PS Plus in France?

New Playstation Plus will therefore be available in June as was specified last time, but its launch will be gradual across the world and countries. With us in France and in Europe, this new PS Plus will therefore be available on June 22, 2022. Here’s the PS Plus rollout plan:

  • Asia (excluding Japan) – release scheduled for May 23, 2022
  • Japan – release scheduled for June 1, 2022
  • America – scheduled for release June 13, 2022
  • Europe – release scheduled for June 22, 2022

As you will have understood, we Europeans will therefore be dead last, but it is only a matter of days. Sony also specifies that other details will be communicated in the coming days, and indeed, despite this information, big questions remain about the service.

For example, it is not yet known which games will be offered in the library accessible via the two largest levels of this new service. As a reminder, this PlayStation Plus will be divided into three levels, which will be as follows:

PS Plus Essential

  • €8.99 per month / €24.99 per quarter / €59.99 per year
  • Two downloadable games each month
  • Exclusive discounts
  • Cloud storage for game saves
  • Access to online multiplayer

PS Plus Extra

  • €13.99 per month / €39.99 per quarter / €99.99 per year
  • Provides all the benefits of the Essential tier
  • Also offers a catalog of approximately 400 PS4 and PS5 games, including from the PlayStation Studios catalog and our third-party partners. Extra tier games can be downloaded for offline access

PS Plus Premium

  • €16.99 per month / €49.99 per quarter / €119.99 per year
  • Provides all the benefits of the Essential and Extra Tiers
  • Offers approximately 340 additional games, including:
    • PS3 games available via cloud streaming
    • a catalog of great classics, available for streaming or download among PlayStation, PS2 and PSP games.
  • Game streaming for PS1, PS2, PSP and PS4 games (both on PC, PS4 and PS5)
  • Limited-time trial versions

We therefore do not know which games will be affected here, but since the Asian launch of the program will take place in only a month, we should quickly be able to get an idea, even if the catalog risks changing from region to region (especially between Asia and the West). ).
