The latest version of WhatsApp for iOS has a feature that the company teased about a week ago. From now on, users will be able to participate in group voice calls with up to 32 participants. Here’s everything new with this update.

In the coming months, WhatsApp is preparing a lot of new features such as Reactions, larger files that users can send, community features, and more. In version 22.8.80 of the app, users will now be able to participate in group voice calls with up to 32 people.

This update includes a redesigned interface with social audio layout, speaker highlighting, and waveforms.

In addition, this new version of WhatsApp for iOS has updated the design of voice message popups and information screens for contacts and groups. There’s also a new setting for accessing your favorite media in the gallery.

It’s important to note that all of these features are now available on the app, but it may take a few more weeks for them to roll out to all users, as is usually the case with new WhatsApp features.

In addition to these features being available to all users, WABetaInfo recently discovered that the developers are preparing Reactions 2.0 for the desktop version. This means that in a future update, users will be able to respond to messages with any emoji.

Last but not least, WhatsApp continues to work on the ability to remove the expiration date of disappearing messages. WABetaInfo explains:

When you save a message, it won’t disappear from the chat after it expires, but anyone can cancel it if they don’t agree to keep the message in the chat after it expires. If the message persists, it means it was a disappearing message converted to a normal message to avoid expiration. When someone tries to delete a message, it will be deleted immediately for everyone and disappear from the chat.
