One Piece: The top 10 best ships

A pirate story without ships would probably be like a Western without guns or horses. That’s why the legendary anime series and manga series One Piece relies on lots of cool boats on which the most diverse crews sail the treacherous waters of the Grand Line. In the more than 20 years of One Piece, there have been some phenomenal designs that we want to select in a top 10 today. What is the coolest ship in One Piece? And which ones will we see in the One Piece Netflix series?

10th place: Enel’s Ark Maxim

In last place we have a ship that is not intended for the seas at all. Because the Ark Maxim of “god” Enel on Skypiea is intended to defy gravity and even leave the earth with the help of Enel’s electro abilities. In small manga snippets, readers even learn that Enel lands on the moon with it – crazy, but that’s the world of One Piece. Thanks to an awesome look, Maxim still secured a 10th place. 9th place: The Polar Tang by Trafalgar Law

Another unusual boat is the Polar Tang from Room Devil Fruit user Trafalgar Law. The talented surgeon and his small crew not only sail across the seas, but also under them! The submarine function has already helped out several times in One Piece with Luffy and his Straw Hats.

Oh, you thought we should slowly approach “normal” ships? Pfff How about a moving fortress of amphibious design?! The notorious pirate Capone Bege and his “Fire Tank Pirates” are traveling in a ship that suits its captain perfectly. Finally, thanks to a devil fruit, Capone can transform himself into a castle, so his boat is also a mobile castle on tank tracks, whose figurehead is a tower.

7th place: Shiki’s flying island ship

Okay, let’s move on to a normal ship… that can fly! Ha! The legendary pirate Shiki from the one-piece film “Strong World” (but also part of anime and manga) relies on a really cool ship with an imposing lion figure on the bow, which consists of parts of an island. The flying pirate Shiki can levitate touched, non-living things – and he simply applied this to his ship, which can thus sail through the air.

6th place: Red Force – the ship of the red Shanks

While many ships from One Piece are based more on the designs of the great pirate days of our world, there are of course many outliers (as the previous points show). Rothaar Shanks, for example, relies on a Scandinavian look. Because the Red Force, with its martial dragon head on the bow, is more reminiscent of Viking longships.
