We already reported about OpenNetMeter in February 22. A small portable tool for the download / upload and traffic display in the taskbar (systray) via mouseover under Windows 10 and 11.

Under Windows 10 also directly as a display in the taskbar. In the new version 0.8.0, the dark mode has now also been added, which can be activated manually in the settings. A confirmation pop-up has now been added for resetting the information so that the data is not accidentally deleted.

Since our last report you can now only display internal (local/private), external (internet) or both networks and window scaling has also been added. And minor other fixes were made. As in the first report, OpenNetMeter is more for those of you who don’t always want to keep an eye on the traffic, but also want to see directly which processes are currently using the network.

If you are on the road with the Windows 11 Insider and start OpenNetMeter for the first time, you must first go to the Windows 11 settings so that the “ball” is also displayed directly in the taskbar. Because dragging from the hidden area can no longer be pulled out.
