President Biden met today with members of the families of Japanese citizens abducted by North Korea several decades ago, according to the White House. At the meeting, Biden “expressed solidarity” with the victims and lended his support to Prime Minister Kishida “to resolve this painful issue.” The White House said that the President listened to the personal stories of the families. He called on North Korea to “right this historic wrong and provide a full accounting of the 12 Japanese nationals who remain missing.”
