When you think of endless, planted fields, you definitely think of wheat, because this crop is an absolute basis of farm life, whether for the market or as animal feed. But how can you plant and harvest wheat in Farming Simulator 22, how do you sell or process it and can you also buy it in the shop instead of growing it yourself? How do you grow wheat?
It works like many other crops. What you need first is a fully plowed field, wheat seed that you can buy from the merchant and a seeder – it doesn’t matter which one. Just stand next to your seeder with the wheat seed, then you can press the standard key R, which you need in so many places in the game. This fills the device.
With Z you can then set the appropriate seed, in this case wheat.

This also works like with other products: you need a tractor trailer to collect the crops, but you also need a combine harvester. You have to buy the latter explicitly for the combine harvester. Bring both colossuses to your flowering field, take your combine harvester with cutting unit in front and put the knives down at the beginning of the wheat field. Then you can drive over your field and cut off the grain.
Once your combine is full, you can load the grain into the trailer. To do this you have to unfold the pipe of the combine harvester and place the two vehicles next to each other so that the pipe is above the tractor trailer. Then you will see the appropriate button for unloading the grain in the control menu.
Buy and sell wheat
When you have won wheat, you can make money from it by selling it. Contact points would be about the flour mill, but also the market in Goldcrest Valley. However, this does not bring you too much income – other income is more suitable for selling. Grain is therefore better for processing or as animal feed.
If you don’t feel like growing the wheat, you can simply buy it from the dealer for your animals. It is either in large sacks, big bags or in whole pallets.
How can you process wheat?
What do you do with wheat? Of course: flour. Logically, however, you first need a mill to obtain flour. Either you already have a mill on the map, then you can buy it, or you can pay for it in construction mode and build it first. Then you can unload the grain there and get flour for it.
The finished flour can then be found on pallets in front of the building, but you can also set the flour to go directly to other production facilities at the mill. It is used, for example, in the bakery to make delicious pastries out of it.
