A 36-year-old truck driver from Maryland was killed after crashing and overturning on the New Jersey Turnpike early Friday in Mercer County, officials said. Franklin S. Parker was traveling north on the toll road at about 3:45 a.m, when his tractor-trailer drifted onto the left shoulder, struck the guard rail, overturned and slammed into a concrete bridge support, according to State Police. Parker, of Ethen, Maryland was pronounced dead following the crash near mile post 63.4 in Robbinsville — about half-way between exits 7A and 8. The crash remains under investigation.
