The latest change in the world of video game development affects the studio behind the Borderlands franchise, Gearbox Entertainment.
The news of studio acquisitions and staffing changes in the video game development landscape continues, this time affecting developer studio and publisher Gearbox Entertainment and their support studio Lost Boys Interactive.
Lost Boys Interactive currently employs over 220 people and was most recently involved in the development of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Plans for the future include expansion to up to 350 employees, which should come as no surprise given the current economic climate.
Gearbox Entertainment itself is just a subsidiary of Embracer Group, which has announced following the recent collaboration between the two studios that they are pleased to welcome Lost Boys Interactive to the family. The newly acquired studio will continue to collaborate on larger projects and will be working on its own IP for PC and consoles.
