The Russian eSports Federation has developed a package of proposals to support eSports, including a deferment from military service. It is reported by TASS.
“Now there is pressure, many athletes are trying to poach. We are not saying that all e-sportsmen should not serve, there will be a delay, but then, when the time comes, let them serve in a specialized company, ”Dmitry Smith, president of the Russian eSports Federation, told reporters after a meeting of the State Duma working group on e-sports.
In a company designed for e-sportsmen, fine motor skills will be important. In today’s weaponry, where decisions need to be made in tenths of a second, they can be of benefit and maximum effect to the homeland, says Smith.
Postponement is not the only measure. The Federation of Computer Sports of Russia also put forward a proposal for out-of-competition selection to universities for bachelor’s and specialist’s programs for athletes who showed high results in international competitions.
