Keep your pet active

The first thing is simple to do: get your animals to exercise. Unfortunately, many dogs do not get enough exercise. Bad weather, behavior problems with other dogs or people, many reasons why Fido stays at home. Similarly for cats that stay mostly indoors, they are less active and can have a level of body fat 5% higher than cats that are much more outdoors.

Exercising on a regular basis is therefore the key to maintaining a healthy body weight, and losing weight (if ever). Dogs will be very fond of “scentwork” or “trick training” that can be done in your living room. Practice ! Likewise for our feline friends, there are plenty of cat toys to encourage your little furry ball to burn calories while playing inside. Obviously, another solution is to make the meals active, by scattering the food for example, or by having bowls, which encourages the dog to look for his meal. The best option is obviously to walk them outside, an activity that can also be applied to cats! With a little practice and getting used to, cats can also be walked on a leash.
