UN Secretary General António Guterres wants to visit Moscow and Kiev to help facilitate a ceasefire in Ukraine. Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said Guterres had sent letters to the UN missions of Russia and Ukraine asking “President (Vladimir) Putin to receive him in Moscow and President Volodymyr Zelensky to receive him in Kiev.” The UN chief said earlier this week that a ceasefire starting on Thursday would give civilians the opportunity to leave contested areas.
