Nikita, the studio director behind Escape From Tarkov, took part in a Q&A session with his community manager. The topics discussed revolve mainly around the development of the game and its future. Here is a short summary, as austere as the interface of their game:

  • missions specific to certain factions are planned, with notions of reputation
  • there will be a rebalancing of in-game money to avoid too many “super-rich”. Nikita concedes, however, that those who play a stupidly high number of hours will always be richer than the others, but that they will only be a small minority.
  • events, such as raiders on Factoryor boss meetings, but also global and/or group objectives will be planned to brighten up the games, but it is not yet planned for the moment.
  • everything related to areas accessible by access codes is only in its first iteration. Eventually, we should be able to find codes in raids or crack them.
  • radios are provided to discuss with the other members of his team. We do not really see the interest compared to Discord, but it must be to reinforce realism.
  • they have broad plans on how to develop things, but allow themselves to change over time if they have an idea that really improves a particular aspect. Moreover, they are always open to community proposals, and even when they are ready for release (around the same time as that of StarCitizen), new ideas will be set aside for future DLCs.
  • because everyone is clamoring for it and it was sorely missing, they’re finally going to factor in how much force it takes to pull the trigger when calculating gun-specific delays and recoil.
