IT House May 21 news, Tesla CEO Elon Musk (Elon Musk) set a goal in Brazil on Friday: Tesla will have a truly self-driving car next year.
Musk is currently in South America meeting with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, where they discussed using SpaceX technology to help provide internet to schools in rural areas of the country and help monitor deforestation in the Amazon rainforest.
In an interview with reporters, Musk said he expects Tesla to launch a self-driving car without a human driver in about a year.
IT House understands that this is not the first time Musk has made rhetoric. As early as December 2015, he predicted that he would achieve “full autonomy” within two years, but the time plan has since been readjusted many times.
In recent years, Tesla has been working hard towards this goal with its FSD Beta program, which is already operational in the U.S. and Canada with more than 100,000 testers. Judging from the actual measured video released so far, the actual effect of FSD has been quite good.
In a recent interview at the All In One Summit, Musk called the FSD Beta program “very complicated” and said the company should be able to expand the program to about 1 million Tesla owners by the end of the year.
Musk also revealed on the first-quarter 2022 earnings call that they are developing a dedicated taxi without a steering wheel or pedals, with production scheduled to begin in 2024, arousing heated discussions among netizens.
