In Brazil, there is article 39 of the Consumer Code, according to which the “selling of addiction” is an offensive and prohibited practice in the country. That is why selling an iPhone without a charger is a violation.

Last year, Apple was fined $2 million in Brazil for not having a charging adapter in the box, and the other day they were ordered to pay compensation to one of the buyers in the amount of 5,000 reais (about $1,075).

Apple calls the rejection of adapters in the kit “concern for the environment”, but in reality this is a hidden price increase. In Russia and other countries, sales of adapters have grown many times over. It seems that not everyone has the same adapters from old smartphones.
