New Jersey on Friday reported eight more COVID-19 deaths and 5,103 new confirmed positive tests as federal health officials expanded the areas in the state under “high” risk for coronavirus transmission to 10 counties. The state’s seven-day average for confirmed cases was 4,005 on Friday, up 16% from a week ago and up 144% from a month ago.
