Thousands of dollars was stolen from an SUV parked on West Side Avenue in Jersey City sometime overnight, authorities said. Approximately $12,000 in cash and eight cases of Snapple and Gatorade were reported taken sometime Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said. The burglary occurred on West Side Avenue near Yale Avenue. The investigation is ongoing. Police did not say if the victim told police why he had that much cash in the SUV.
