Two weeks ago, some new Ryzen CPUs for the AMD socket AM4 with a well-known architecture came onto the market to supplement the range and offer more alternatives to Intel CPUs, the new Ryzen 7 5800X3D is now on the market arrived. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D is based on the well-known Zen 3 architecture, but has a small change in the architecture, which is also indicated by the suffix 3D. In principle, it is a slightly modified version Ryzen 7 5800X. The latter is currently available in stores from 330 euros – the new Ryzen 7 5800X3D currently costs from 489 euros (case king) and is also with ours Partnershop Alternate can be ordered for 509 euros. The additional price is explained by the fact that the level 3 cache is supplemented by 64 megabytes of 3D cache. To put it simply, it is arranged one above the other and can therefore communicate a bit faster for some tasks than if the data only had to find their way on the same level.
Above all, possible delays in the data streams are minimized in this way, but the increase in the total cache from 32 to 96 megabytes alone brings advantages. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D gets the codename Vermeer-X. The Ryzen models with the previous Zen 3 architecture are only called Vermeer. The data of the new AMD CPU compared to the normal Ryzen 7 5800X:

A fine detail catches the eye of overclocker friends: The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is not “easily overclockable” because, unlike previous Ryzen CPUs, it does not have a freely selectable multiplier and therefore unfortunately cannot be overclocked in this simple way. Maybe AMD doesn’t dare to give a release here yet, because the small architectural trick is new and you don’t want to provoke any guarantee cases.
