The internal combustion engine is not dead, yet. Toyota is now investing $ 383 million in four US factories that will manufacture four-cylinder petrol engines. The largest bag of money will go to Huntsville Alabama where a new production line will be developed for the engines. At present, there is capacity to produce 900,000 engines a year here, but this will be expanded, and the site will be expanded by 10,000 square meters, among other things.
At present, lighthouses of 1.8, 2.0 and 2.5 liters are offered. The investment may lead to a completely newly developed engine joining these companies, but there is nothing confirmed about this yet.
