The still relatively young development studio Skydance New Media today announced a cooperation with Lucasfilm Games. This cooperation should result in a new action-adventure in the “Star Wars” universe.
On the official Star Wars website Lucasfilm Games and Skydance New Media today announced that both companies are working on a new action-adventure game set in a galaxy far, far away. The development studio is headed by Amy Henning, who has previously worked as an author on well-known game franchises such as “Legacy of Kain”, “Jak & Daxter” and the exclusive PlayStation brand “Uncharted”.
Amy Henning gets new Star Wars opportunity
For Hennig, it’s a new opportunity to work on a Star Wars video game. During her time at the now-defunct Electronic Arts studio Visceral Games, she tinkered once before on a game based on the worldwide popular multimedia franchise. For the president of Skydance New Media, a dream now seems to be coming true, because seeing “Star Wars” in the cinema as a child in 1977 “indelibly shaped her creative life and my future”.
Lucasfilm Games is also enthusiastic about the renewed cooperation with Henning. According to Douglas Reilly, the company’s vice president, the development team has “the talent and ambition to create a unique Star Wars adventure. […] Their vision to create narrative and engaging interactive entertainment makes the collaboration very exciting. More details about the project will be revealed later.
Not too much is known about the upcoming “Star Wars” game at the moment. What is certain is that it will be a story-driven action-adventure. The title’s plot, which is an original story, was written specifically for the upcoming game. Which characters will be the focus and how the story will fit into the extensive timeline of the star saga is still unknown.

Founded in 2019, Skydance New Media brings together diverse video game veterans who now want to work together on new projects. Prior to announcing it was developing a Star Wars game, the company last year announced a collaboration with Marvel Entertainment to create a game based on characters from the world-renowned comic book publisher’s rich history.
