Moscow Arbitration Court arrested on finance and real estate owned by Google LLC, the Russian representative office of Google. Earlier, the organization has already announced that it is going to declare itself bankrupt.
As follows from the court ruling, ANO TV-Novosti, which owns the RT channel, filed a lawsuit demanding that Google Ireland Limited, Google LLC and Google LLC restore access to the plaintiff’s YouTube channels. As an interim measure, the arrest of the property of Google LLC was requested, since failure to comply with the court decision will entail a large fine.
Previously, Google was fined 7.22 billion rubles for not complying with the court decision in full and not restoring several videos on the Tsargrad YouTube channel. In addition, Google’s assets in Russia for more than a billion rubles were arrested in the suits of television companies. NTV and “GPM Entertainment TV” (owned by Gazprom-media), as well as football club “Akhmat”.
In the coming days, Google LLC will begin the process of liquidation due to bankruptcy, and most of the employees of this organization will exported from Russia to other countries (including Dubai) and will continue to work for Google. According to Google, this will not affect the operation of Google services in Russia in any way – most of them will still be available.
